The ultimate goal

Our ultimate goal in life should be to get to heaven, because no one wants to spend eternity with the devil and his angels (Mt. 25:41). Unfortunately, many people lack clarity on their priorities. It is not easy to live a Christian life and have a clear sense of priorities. This should drive us to take a hard look at ourselves and appraise if we are taking the narrow road to heaven or the broad road to damnation. It’s easy to lose sight of our ultimate goal of heaven owing to our society’s obsession with money and possessions.

There is nothing wrong with having wealth; they become problematic when we begin to loving them more than God (1 Tim. 6:10). When our priorities are in order, we will use the blessings God has bestowed on us to advance God’s kingdom.

Nothing this world has to offer is worth forfeiting our soul to the devil (Mt. 16:26). We should constantly remind ourselves that God must come first in our lives (Mt. 10:37-38), and we should focus our thoughts on heaven (Col. 3:2). After all, heaven is a prepared place for prepared people (Jn. 14:2-3). Heaven’s tranquilly and beauty cannot be adequately defined in words because it is more majestic than we can fathom (1 Cor. 2:9).

Therefore, I encourage you to set your sights on heaven by fighting the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12) and keeping God’s commands. It takes perseverance, patience, and tenacity to reach heaven, but the eternal rewards are well worth the effort.
